Three letters from Dixson to his wife, Nancy Ann (Cuthrell) Dixson, discussing his regiment, giving advice on the farm and crop, and ordering her not to pay the Confederate tax in kind; together with a letter (Sept. 30, 1862) from Henry Dixson to his brother Leonard Dixson giving army news including reports of deserters and asking Leonard to attend to matter concerning the cotton crop for his wife, Mary Ann (Latham) Dixson. Both brothers served with the 42nd North Carolina Regiment.
